The collection consists mainly of public relations materials, including scrapbooks (1936-1971), newsclippings (1910-1993), historical summaries and recollections, publications files, and photographs(1906-1984). There is also in the collection season planning documentation for scattered years: contracts, correspondence, and reports relating to planning the repertoire and the hiring of guest artists for a particular season. Significant correspondents in this record group include composer Aaron Copland, and conductors William Steinberg and Lukas Foss. The remainder of the collection includes a few founding documents and scattered files about Ravinia Park and the building and renovation of its facilities; some development and fundraising campaigns records; and some correspondence by and relating to Ravinia staff and trustees.
